Looks like nothing short of a steam roller can stop Kandy SC this season!

Yesterday the Kandy lads had a field day defeating CH&FC by 31 points (3 goals, 2 tries) to 10 ( 2 tries) in the Caltex A Division second round league rugby fixture at Maitland Crescent.

This was CH’s fourth defeat in-a-row while Kandy has strengthened their chances of holding on to the league title for the eighth straight year.

Generally if a side has the majority of the possession, that side would win the game.

Unfortunately for the hosts that was not the case yesterday. CH and FC kept attacking only to squander possession either with erratic passes or by ball handling.
The hard work done by the forwards was thus undone by the backs.
Young Naren Dhason had a good game in the first, but seemed a bit unnerved in the second.
For the champions once again Stand Off Faazil Marija played exceptionally along with Flanker Dilip Selvam.

Kandy led by a whisker at 19-10 at the break.

Kandy was smarter in the loose and scored their tries Sanjaya Jayasinghe. Saliya Kumara was on target with the kicks.

CH who fought like terriers in the first half wilted under pressure in the second.
Lock Dinesh Sanjeeva and winger Heshan Gunaratne scored the tries for the Maitland Crescent side.
