India has expressed concern over Sri Lanka's new visa rules, particularly the US$ 50 processing fee, and urged that it be reduced. India's is Sri Lanka's biggest inbound travel market, followed by Britain.

 
Fuel prices hiked in yet another pre-budget move

The price of a litre of petrol was increased by Rs. 12, diesel Rs 8 and kerosene Rs. 10. Accordingly, the new prices of a litre of Octane 90 petrol will be Rs 137, Octane 95 Rs. 155, diesel Rs 84 and kerosene Rs. 73. The government last increased fuel prices on April 1 this year.
