ANC Education celebrated its 17th Annual Graduation Ceremony and Awards Night held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on 19th July 2019.

Over 524 ANC graduands went on stage to receive their certificates that signified the culmination of hard work, actualization of their goals and sheer commitment to reach this remarkable milestone in their lives.

The atmosphere of pride, happiness and excitement prevailed as hundreds of students were felicitated; 250 MBA, LLM and MSc, 110 U.S/Canadian University Transfer & Degree completion and over 100 B.A Top-up and Advanced Diploma students.

Ms. Shiromal Cooray, Chairman and Managing Director of Jetwing Hotels & Travels, graced the Graduation & Awards Night as the honorable Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker. The special invitees also included Dr. Mamiko Reeves -Asst. Vice President and Dean of International Programs at Northwood University, Dr. Suresh Gamlath- Dean of the Business School of University of West London and the Board of Directors of ANC Education, as well as parents that graced this special day.

Sharing her views, Ms. Shiromal Cooray said “I would like the young minds of this country to become the future leaders that drive businesses, create more jobs and, as entrepreneurs, to become fountainheads of commercially relevant ideas that will make a difference to the economy and the country.

ANC Graduation and Awards Night awarded the top candidates for their outstanding achievements under our diverse educational programmes that produced over 250 graduands for Master of Law (LLM), Master of Science (MSc) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) of the University of West London(UWL), 110 from Northwood University and SUNY Empire State College for Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelors of Science in Psychology (BSc) respectively, and over 100 with Bachelor of Arts(BA) from UWL and Advanced Diploma from Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA). Graduands transferring to the U.S & Canada after successfully completing 1 to 2 years at ANC have been accepted to top universities like York University, University of Waterloo, Windsor University, University of Victoria, SUNY Oswego and many others, who were also recognized and felicitated on this day.

The Best Achievement Awards of 2018-2019 were presented to Shelin De Silva Guruge of Northwood University, and the Best Achievement Awards from the University of West London were awarded to Fathima Farha Mohamed Firdhouse and Yohan Hso Shi Tsung of the Master of Business Administration Program, Sidath Gajanayaka for the Master of Law, International Studies in Intellectual Property Law, Nihara Mary Perera of the Master of Law, Business & Commercial Law, Thanuja Karunananda of the Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies and Dushika Soundararajan of the Master of Science Clinical & Health Psychology.
In the words of Dr. Jagath Alwis, the Chairman of ANC Education “when we first began, our goal was to be the prime provider of U.S education in Sri Lanka; fast forward to today and we have made even greater strides by partnering with many more internationally acclaimed universities situated in over 15 strategic locations globally. As we have grown, our aim has been to offer students more diversity and a range of options to choose the ultimate career that fits both their vision and innate talent”. The highest quality of foreign education is now more accessible to eager bright prospects looking to make their mark on the world, and as this batch of graduates set sail on their career pathways, I know they will inspire the next generation of leaders”.

In the words of Dr. Suresh Gamlath- Dean of the Business School of University of West London, “It has been a momentous year for the University of West London(UWL). We join in celebrating the achievement of more than four hundred UWL graduates in Sri Lanka this year. The University has been voted the top modern university in London for overall satisfaction in the influential National Student Survey 2019 and has formally launched the Westmont Enterprise Hub in a major boost for regional start-up businesses, linking entrepreneurs with investors, business advisors, and University expertise. UWL continues its commitment to teaching excellence attaining a Silver rating in the UK’s Teaching Excellence Framework, and boasts one of the highest employability rates among graduates”.

Dr. Mamiko Reeves -Asst.
