Grand art competition for 75th National Day: President

President Ranil Wickremesinghe declared open the 50th solo art exhibition of veteran artist H.S. Sarath, at the Lionel Wendt Art Centre in Colombo on Thursday.
Two girls who attended the art exhibition handed over a plan on how to improve the country’s education system to the President.
Addressing the people gathered, the President said his relationship with Mr. Sarath goes back more than four decades.
During his time as Youth Affairs and Education Minister he attended art exhibitions of the veteran artist, while Mr. Sarath engaged in Youth Affairs and Education Ministry activities and projects, the President.
He also added that he had plans to organise a grand art competition under the leadership of Mr. Sarath with the participation of young artists, along with next year’s Independence day
celebrations.
