Old favourites and more when SOSL returns with Christmas Concert
View(s):“There’s Christmas in the Air” – as the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka (SOSL) takes the stage with a carefully chosen programme designed to entertain and uplift listeners of all ages in its much anticipated Christmas concert on December 16 & 17 at the Bishop’s College Auditorium. The Family Christmas Concert is being held after a hiatus of two years.
The SOSL, will be with The Old Joes Choir, The Menaka Singers and Resonance, led by conductors Dushyanthi Perera and Nishantha Warnakulasuriya.
Vocalists Amarsha Tissera and Chrisantha Silva (CC), musicians Naveen Fernando (flugelhorn) and Nilupul Silva (violin) will lend an extra sparkle to the evening’s music with their solo performances of well-loved works.
Popular film themes from the Miracle on 34th Street and The Prince of Egypt will stir the young ones, while the nostalgic ‘Mary, did you know?’ “Carols of the Bells’ and ‘O Come O Come Emmanuel’ resonate with all.
