The SLR Nippon Paint Club Rugby League 20223 match against hosts Army SC and Havelocks was halted at halftime at Panagoda, after a heavy downpour prevented further play. By the time the game was temporarily ceased, Havelocks were in the lead by 17-8, which was also the halftime score.

After the stoppage, the match officials observed the situation, concerning the weather, playing field and other concerns and decided to cease the game at the point it was stopped. The game is likely to be restarted from the point it was stopped on Monday at the same venue. This also happened to be the inaugural game to be played at Panagoda.

Havelocks had scored from two converted tries and a penalty, which came first in the 11th minute off the boots of scrumhalf Mithun Hapugoda. The tries were scored by No.8 Christian De Line and forward Nivanka Prasad, while flyhalf Sandesh Jayawickrama converted both.

Hosts Army scored from an unconverted try and a penalty. The try was scored by lock Nalan Premaratne after the penalty from fullback Isuru Premaratne.
