At the AGM held on 3rd January, 2023, following were appointed to the New Board of Management of Maithree Child Development Centre ( MCDC), Gothami Road, Colombo 08, by the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress, Colombo 07.

Maithree Child Development Centre ( MCDC ) was first registered in 1963 to be governed by the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress (ACBC). MCDC is one out of the seventeen Child Development Centers in Sri Lanka coming under the National Council of Childcare of ACBC. MCDC is recognised as one of the best administered Child Development Centres in the city of Colombo for the wellbeing of its girl inmates. MCDC presently house 24 Girls between the ages of 6 to 18 they follow their Education at a well-recognised Government School.
These Girls are directed to the MCDC by the Magistrate Courts, for the reasons of Parents or their Guardians proved to be unable to give proper care to their Children. The Board of Management of MCDC consists of personalities who have served Public & Private Sector in Senior Management. They are Committed to ensure that utmost care is given to the Children with special emphasis on physical, mental, religious, spiritual, educational and social development. The Government body, Department of Probation and Child Care too, is also responsible and visit MCDC on a periodical basis for regular supervision to ensure the wellbeing of the inmates. citizens of our motherland as responsible adults when they leave the Centre at the age of 18.
