Lyceum girls and Ananda boys bag National Age Group Relay titles
Ananda College and Lyceum International Wattala came out as boys and girls winners swimming for 158 and 144 points in last evening’s season-opening National Age Group Relay Championship at the Sugathadasa waters.
In the women’s category, Visakha Vidyalaya, a dominant force in swimming, finished second by only ten-points in 134.
Followed after them was, Ladies College, doing well to earn that second runners-up scoring 111. In fact, a disparity prevailed between them and the fourth placed, Musaeus College, scoring only 63 points.
On the other hand, in the men’s category, Ananda quite comfortably finished first accumulating 158 points, ahead of St Joseph’s Maradana scoring 137 points.
Interestingly and coincidentally, Joes arch-rivals St. Peters concluded third with 111 points.
Sri Lanka Army, having country’s premier swimmer Akalanka Peiris, failed to finish in top-three in both the categories.
