The Under-13 Division I Cricket Tournament final between Royal College and St. Peter’s College, played at Ananda Mawatha, ended in a draw and as a result, the two teams were declared joint champions.
Royal juniors taking first lease of the wicket, made a modest score of 225 for 6, which came on the back of a knock of 51 in 61 balls inclusive of seven boundaries by Nithesh Jayasinghe. He also put on a 92-run stand for the third wicket with Rasula Madarasinghe.
St. Peter’s juniors in their run chase, helped by a knock of 58 from Hirun Noyahr, who put on an opening wicket stand of 79 runs with Methuka Gunaratne, was on 124 for 3 when stumps were drawn.
