The Light of Asia book launch

The Sinhala translation of the book The Light of Asia – the poem that defined the Buddha written by former Indian Union Minister Jairam Ramesh was launched at the Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi as part of the Independence Day celebrations. Pictured (from left to right); Ven Palawatte Seewalee, General Secretary of the Maha Bodhi Society of India, Mr Jairam Ramesh, High Commissioner Milinda Moragoda and Deputy High Commissioner Niluka Kadurugamuwa who translated the book. Mr Kadurugamuwa is a member of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service and won the State Literary Award for the best translation of a novel into Sinhala in 2018, 2019 and 2022.
