Principal vacancies to be filled by month end
View(s):The Public Service Commission granted approval to recruit 4,800 principals for schools, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.
Nearly 10,000 applicants would be interviewed for the vacancies. Interviews will commence in the coming week, and plans are underway to complete recruitment by the end of the month.
Minister Premajayantha said that some of the schools were operating without a principal and only had acting principals.
He said vacancies will be filled in schools of A grade onwards and provincial schools. Some of the vacancies of National schools, too, are expected to be filled this month.
“All schools will have the principal post filled by the time the next term commences,” he said.
