Self-Appreciation Mind Coating
View(s):Before we paint a colour to our gates we make it a definite point to apply few anti-corrosive paint codes so that the gate will not be corroded. Also when we put some medicine to a wound we make it a point to cover it up with a bandage so that destructive and alien materials cannot reach the wound thus the medicine will have the freedom to cure the wound. We recently went to watch the film PLANE and my seven-year-old daughter Esther was wearing ear plugs time to time and when asked she said she doesn’t want to hear any disturbing sounds as such will scare her and ruin her day. Though we all are so concerned about preserving or protecting physical elements most of us have not even thought about coating their minds with a powerful layer of protective thoughts so that the destructive and venomous thoughts cannot go through their mind walls. The mind of many people have been invaded by mind paralyzing thoughts and now those harmful thoughts reside permanently since the owners were never interested in uprooting them. It is better to coat an anti-corrosive paint to the gate rather than cleaning the gate when it is being corroded.
One of the best coatings your mind walls could have to protect it from destructive thoughts is to generate self-appreciation thoughts where you train your mind to appreciate you than condemning you. Lot of people are mentally suffering because all what they have stored in their minds are thoughts of self-condemnation. Thinking and feeding the mind always with many wrong doings they have done, bad decisions they have taken, doubtful thoughts about them which scatters confidence, thinking that they are not talented compared to others or they don’t have what it needs to and similar negative thoughts which pulls them down. Thoughts which does not lift them high. I get my life coaching clients to maintain a book call good seeds and bad weeds. This is to get an inventory on thoughts. When you contemplate on good things continuously then your thought circuits turn to be appreciative from being grumbling. However, it is so unfortunate to see that many have journeying through condemning environments. At home parents say the child is useless, at school the teachers say he is bad, then the neighbors say that child is a wound to the society. Then Invariably that child’s brain tends to store these continuous negative voices in the subconscious thus creates negative thought circuits on the basis of defining him as a bad child.
On the other hand, Self-appreciation takes our mindset into a whole new realm allowing you to master the skill of contentment which indeed is a very powerful mind state to be equipped with. The art of self-appreciation should be based on who you were yesterday and who you are today. There will be a serious war in your mind if you try to compare who you are and who your friend is today. Comparison with others should only be used as a benchmark to grow and not as a metrics to measure your success. Even the dogs would grow in confidence when you talk good about them. Good words carry enormous energy as words are not empty things that just come out of your mouth. What comes out of your mouth is what is generated in your heart. What is generated in your heart is based on what is stored on your mind. Therefore, store your mind with all good things, appreciative things, encouraging words, motivating statements and inspiring comments. If you use adulterated and contaminated oil to fry your cutlets they will taste miserably awful. Similarly, if your store contaminated, stale thoughts in your mind that is exactly what your brain is left with to produce thoughts. Don’t expect a rose after planting a wild plant. What you store in your mind is the material what is available for your brain to manufacture thoughts. You are negative because you have been storing loads of negative thoughts in your mind. You give up because you have been storing loads of giving up thoughts in your past.
But the good news is that your brain is very good in updating. You can change any negative thought patterns which has been with you for long times towards positive ones. This needs an unwavering commitment. In the beginning you may fall many times when you attempt to change the thought patterns. No dog will let another new one to enter its territory. It is natural to shake in the beginning when you are trying to revert your thinking style as the default mode will always throw a fit. But as you continue to push against it then the negative strength will start to lose its strength overtime. When my son Joshua was asked to eat by himself from his hand when he was around five years he spilled rice everywhere on the table and the food was all over his palm. But with continuous effort he was able to minimize the errors moreover reached a level where he started to eat perfectly. Effort without ceasing can definitely diminish the power of negative strength. Any negative strength could be weakened with constant effort and practice. Also any positive strength can also diminish when it is not continuously developed and practiced. If you eat too much of oily food, then you will turn fat but if you eat healthy food you will look good. Both positive and negative energies grow when we keep on feeding them.
Therefore, train to starve the negative energy and keep on feeding the positive energy till the negative energy has no room in your mind stores as it is now fully loads with good, inspiring, motivating, uplifting, transformational thoughts. Come out of environments that carries and produces negative thoughts, discrimination, judgmental thoughts, gossiping, bad wrapping, doubting and plugged yourself with environments where there is appreciation, respect, inspiration, motivation and recognition. I was basically living in dark places in the country where there is so much of crime, drugs and prostitution but now when I drive passing those areas I feel a very displeasing feeling just like when you see vomit. I used to smoke a lot of ciggerretes a day and now when someone smoking passes me I feel so uncomfortable. I keep hating the old lifestyle and keep appreciating my new self and the things my new self-values things which are of great value, things which are moral, things which are contributive to others.
