2nd National Solo Ball Control Championship on today
The finals of the 2nd National Solo Ball Control Championship will be held today at the Sports Ministry Indoor Courts at Foundation Avenue in Colombo, commencing at 1.00p.m. Conducted by Amateur Sepak Thakraw Association of Sri Lanka (ASTASL), in collaboration with Ministry of Sport, the objective of the tournament is to get more players and teams to engage in sepak takraw. Certificates and trophies will be awarded to winners.
According to the routine to be performed by contestants, as issued by ASTASL, players will be given 90 seconds to display their skills. The first 75 seconds will be reserved to showpiece kicks with right instep, left instep, right thigh, left thigh, right side step, left thigh and head. In the last 15 seconds, players are free to showcase skills as they wish. Any part of the body can be used for this purpose, according to ASTASL. In the final round, players are allowed to use the sepaktakraw ball provided for the match by the ASTASL referees only.
