WB, President’s Office discuss next steps in development policy
View(s):World Bank representatives and President’s Office representatives discussed the next steps to complete Sri Lanka’s development policy operational pre-actions, including the restructuring process.
The discussion took place at the Presidential Secretariat this week.
The establishment of the Parliamentary budget office, restructuring of State-owned enterprises, welfare benefit payment systems, social registry, and the respective timelines were highlighted in the meeting.
The President’s Office said the World Bank representatives praised Sri Lanka’s Development Policy Operational Programme for the remarkable progress it had achieved in advancing its development objectives.
Sagala Ratnayake, Senior Adviser to the President on National Security and Chief of Presidential Staff, chaired the final discussion in a series held with World Bank representatives on Sri Lanka’s Development Policy Operational Programme on April 6.
The event was attended by World Bank representatives including Mrs Chiyo Kanda, Country Manager, and the President’s Senior Adviser on Economic Affairs, Dr R H S Samaratunga, as well as several other officials.
