An evening with Commonwealth Short Story Prize winner Kanya D’Almeida at Lakmahal
View(s):The Lakmahal Community Library in Colombo 3, will host “An evening with Kanya D’Almeida” on April 27 at 6 p.m. Kanya will talk about her writing journey, winning the 2021 Commonwealth Short Story Prize, and the experience of moving back to Sri Lanka with fellow writer and publisher, Ameena Hussein.
Tickets for the event, priced at Rs 1500, are avaialble at the Lakmahal Community Library at 8A, Alfred House Road, Colombo 3. For inquiries, email events@lakmahal.lk
The Lakmahal Community Library was opened in January 2022 to encourage people to engage with the creative arts. In addition to offering quarterly and annual memberships, the library regularly hosts events to inspire creativity through community interaction and practice, such as poetry clubs, book clubs and writing workshops. The library is also rented out for events such as book launches, discussions and private functions.
