Bonjean House emerge champs at 89th St. Joseph’s Athletic Meet
View(s):The 89th Annual Inter-House Athletic Meet of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo was held on March 31 at the college main grounds, with Bonjean House emerging champions. Bonjean House amassed a whopping 447 points and dominated the school’s annual track and field gala while Melizen finished second with 322 points.
Coudert House, with 275 points, finished third followed by Marque House, who raked up 236 points to finish fourth overall. Dineth Hirusha of Melizen House was adjudged the Senior Champion while Joshua Daniels of Bonjean House emerged the Junior Champion of the meet.
Melizen’s Hirusha also became the Under-20 age group champion while the Under-18 age group championship was shared between Pamitha Mihiru of Melizen House and Ivaano White of Marque House.
Jason Rodrigo of Bonjean House became the Under-17 age group champion, while the Under-16 age group title went to Chstjushka Imesh of Coudert House. Junior champ Joshua Daniels of Bonjean House also snatched the Under-15 age group championship. Jason Ferdinanderz of Marque House emerged the Under-14 age group champion.
Chinthana Kavinda of Bonjean House became the Under-13 age group champ, as Aaron de Saram of Marque House was adjudged the winner of the Under-12 age group. Distinguished former Josephian, Major General Shiran Abeysekara, the Director General of Financial Management of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonial Commandant of SLAC of Agriculture and Livestock, graced the awards ceremony as the chief guest.
