‘Enrich to Inspire’ – CF 2023
View(s):The UoK Career Fair 2023 was held on the 31st of March 2023 under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Snr Prof Nilanthi de Silva who graced the occasion as the chief guest. The keynote speaker of CF 23 was Ms. Erosha Fernando, Head of Talent and HR Services, INCEE. Deans of faculties, the director of the CGU, senior treasurers of student clubs, academics attached to the CGU, and students of UoK attended the occasion. The CF 23 comprised many workshops, conducted throughout a ‘career fair month’ which commenced in February 2023.
The CF 23 was entirely organised by the student clubs affiliated to the CGU, the LEO, Rotaract, Gavel, LED, and AIESEC clubs. The president of the Leo Club, Leo Sachith Lakshan chaired the CF 23.

The event brought together students, graduates, and top employers from various industries and provided an excellent opportunity for undergraduates to interact with prospective employers, learn about career paths, and explore various job opportunities. The Career Fair 2023 attracted a large number of undergraduates and graduates, who were eager to meet with employers and network with other professionals. With a diverse range of industries represented, the Career Fair proved to be a valuable platform for bridging the gap between academia and the job market.
As an endeavor that seeks to provide undergraduates the best opportunity to explore and witness the experience worth a lifetime with knowledge, and insights about the corporate world, Career Fair 2023 for the fourteenth consecutive time, has undoubtedly marked another successful attempt that will be in the minds of
many until the next journey.
Career Fair 23 has been accomplished with incredible support from Snr. Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Snr Prof. Dilkushi Wettewe, the Director of the Career Guidance Unit of the University of Kelaniya. Their guidance and the space given for generations ahead to think in new ways throughout the event is the most influential hidden strength of the success of the event. The wholehearted commitment and the teamwork of our excellent organising committee representing the five major clubs of the university: Rotaract, LEO, Gavel, LED, and AIESEC, made the event another remarkable expedition in the history of our university.
The Career Fair 2023 offered valuable guidance to undergraduate students in charting their career paths and developing essential personal traits. The workshops and panel discussions provided insights into how to become a professional and progress in the industry. The fair covered a range of topics, from creating a strong CV to identifying the right career field based on individual preferences. The event proved to be an invaluable platform for students to enhance their skills and grow as individuals, making it the biggest and most valuable opportunity to do so.
On March 31, 2023, the inauguration ceremony and magazine launch for the highly successful Career Fair 2023 was held at the Social Sciences Auditorium of the University of Kelaniya. The event was a clear indication of the Career Fair’s success, with attendees leaving with a promise of an even better fair in the future.
The Career Fair Magazine was also launched at the event, serving as a written testament to the fair’s success. The magazine has now become an essential part of the journey of the career fair, representing another significant milestone in its growth and evolution.
Career Fair 2023 elaborated on various areas focusing on undergraduates who seek to learn more about aspects related to careers. It is not just about jobs and opportunities, it also strived to give the undergraduates plenty of tips on how to mold themselves before stepping into the field of competitiveness. Thus, it was indeed a true motivation for all the young souls in figuring out what they can do to pursue their dream job, how they can achieve their targets, and the best opportunities ahead of them.
Career Fair 2023 is not just an ordinary event it is a glimpse of what you intend to engulf yourself in. While the Career Fair team endeavored to put forward a Career Fair with as much love and dedication as ever, the team was able to shape the future of undergraduates who seek to explore new ventures by embracing the knowledge and opportunities they intended to provide from this initiative of perfection.
