Café 2023 Culinary Art Food Expo returns after three years

Sri Lanka’s premier and most renowned Food and Hospitality showcase, ‘Café 2023: Culinary Art Food Expo’ 20th Edition, organized by the Chefs Guild of Lanka(CGL) together with World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) will come alive at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre at the BMICH from 9th to 11th June, 2023.
The Culinary Art Food Expo is the most comprehensive Food and Beverage Exhibition was initiated in 1988 with 75 competitors and today Café 2023, accommodates more than thousand Chefs competing for hundreds of Gold, Silver and Bronze in one platform.
The event was staged annually until 2019 and this is the very first event to be held after the global pandemic and Sri Lanka’s recent Economic crisis. The organisers took the challenge to stage the show this year with the commitment and dedication and ready support from the sponsors of the culinary industry. The Culinary Art Food Expo platform creates the opportunity for its members in achieving culinary excellence and nurturing the creativity of individual chefs by participating in a team setting thus providing an opportunity to display skills, techniques and sharing of knowledge’ said Chef Gerad Mendis of CGL.
The Expo will cover food products and services from the processing to the consuming stage covering culinary and hospitality segments, in short, every aspect of food From the Factory to the Table will be covered at the EXPO. It attracts exhibitors from all over the country, while buyers representing various segments visit Culinary Art Food Expo to view and obtain the newest products and services available and to view the latest technology on offer.
The chef’s competition categories are being judged by internationally famous WACS approved judges from the USA, Europe, Far East, Pacific Rim and the Middle Eastern regions along with the presence with World President Chef Thomas Gugler.
