Ashanthi School of Music, run by popular star Ashanthi de Alwis, celebrated 15 years with Spotlight 2023, a concert showing off the talents of close to 100 young performers. The concert was held at the Bishop’s College Auditorium on Friday, April 28 and was an evening of music from many different genres such as show tunes, jazz, soul, hip-hop, as well as current hits.

A performance by local legends Bathiya and Santhush also gave the evening an added boost. The last time the School of Music organised a concert on this scale was in 2017, also titled Spotlight. Providing all these young performers with a platform on which to display their talents, Ashanthi considers it imperative that she continues with this series of concerts, undoubtedly contributing to the pool of talent that is established in Sri Lanka.
