Loreen’s ‘Tattoo’ hit the top at Eurovision 2023
View(s):The 67th Eurovision Song Contest took place in Liverpool on the banks of the River Mersey recently, where a crowd of thousands witnessed Loreen from Sweden become the first woman to lift the trophy twice, having secured victory with her song ‘Tattoo’.
The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 took place live in Liverpool, UK, where 26 countries competed for the trophy, and the honor of hosting next year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
After 4 hours of music, performances, entertainment and excitement, Loreen from Sweden was crowned the winner of the 67th Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Tattoo.”
It’s the seventh time Sweden has won Eurovision – the last time was just eight years ago at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 where Måns Zelmerlöw won with “Heroes.” Sweden has tied Ireland for most Eurovision victories.
Loreen also won Eurovision 2012 with “Euphoria,” and was the bookmakers’ clear favorite to win Eurovision 2023. Eurovision world’s visitors also predicted her as winner in our Eurovision Poll. Sweden won the jury votes, while Finland won the public votes. But in total, Loreen and Sweden received 583 points and were crowned the winner.
Sweden’s victory marks their seventh win in the competition, tying them with Ireland as the most successful countries in Eurovision history.
Despite not winning the top spot, Finland proved to be a fan favorite and secured second place with an impressive 526 points. Israel’s Noa Kirel also had a strong showing, finishing in third place.
