Museaus and Lyceum Wattala clinch Super ‘A’ titles

Museaus College, Colombo, clinched the S.L. Ratnayake Memorial All-Island Schools Under-17 Badminton Championships 2023 Super ‘A’ Division girls’ team title for the second successive year while Lyceum International School, Wattala lifted the boys’ title. The Museaus girls defeated Sujatha Vidyalaya, Matara 3-1 in the final while Lyceum Wattala overcame Nalanda College, Colombo 3-0 to be crowned champions of Super ‘A’ Boy’s Division at the tournament which took place at St. Thomas’ College, Bandarawela last week.
Ananda College, Bandarawela Central College, Asian Grammar School, Gothatuwa, Al Siraj Boys College, Kandy and Ananda Sastralaya, Kotte emerged boys’ champions in the ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’ and ‘E’ divisions respectively.
Musaeus College won the girls’ ‘A’ Division title while Christchurch Girls College, Baddegama, Princess of Wales College, Viharamahadevi Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy and Sumedha College, Gampaha, won the girls’ ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’ and ‘E’ titles respectively.
The championships was organised by St. Thomas’ College, Bandarawela under the guidance of Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Association (SLSBA) and Sri Lanka Badminton (SLB).
The chief guest at the closing ceremony, SLB President Rohan de Silva, along with SLB and SLSBA officials presented the trophies for the winners.
