Commerce and Business Studies students to be given internships at State banks
View(s):Students following Commerce and Business Studies will be given an opportunity to familiarise themselves with operations in State-run banks soon, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.
Agreements will be signed between State-run banks and the Education Ministry for this purpose.
Earlier this week, Minister Premajayantha said students following Commerce and Business Studies subjects, which link directly with the economy of a country, must be sent to institutions like banks where theoretical subject knowledge can be practically put to use.
He stressed that students must acquire practical experience of academic subject knowledge.
The minister said he is taking action to give necessary permission for this purpose in writing through a circular. He was participating at an awards ceremony held at the BMICH.
