Shamen Sameera emerges the Evaluations Champion of Toastmasters International – D82*
View(s):Mr. Shamen Sameera was awarded the Championship of Evaluations Contest of District 82 – Toastmasters International for the year 2022/23 at the Ovation Annual District 82 International Conference held at the BMICH from the 27th to the 29th of May 2023. He was also previously crowned as the Champion of District 82 (Sri Lanka & India) Toastmasters International Humorous Speech Contest 2017 held in Chennai, India bringing pride to Sri Lanka. This latest achievement enabled him achieve the extraordinary title of dual Champion of District 82 of Toastmasters International.
The Evaluations contest tests the contestants’ abilities in analysing another speech and providing feedback for advancement and Mr Shamen’s phenomenal performance led him win the Championship title this year.

Mr. Shamen Sameera has a background in business strategy and financial analysis as the Senior Manager – Business Strategy at AIA Insurance – Sri Lanka and this helped him provide critical evaluations with in-depth analysis delivered with the main objective of motivating and guiding individuals to become better speakers and leaders.
He is currently a passionate member of the Pinnacle Advanced Toastmasters Club, the first ever Advanced club in District 82 – Toastmasters International that specialises in developing the evaluation skills of its members & providing a platform for corporate leaders to develop & transform as an exceptional speaker & a leader. Prior to joining Pinnacle Advanced Toastmasters, he was also the President of Serendib Toastmasters for the year 2018/19 and achieved the most Prestigious Golden Gavel award, the highest recognition award for a Toastmasters club in District 82.
He has also been a finalist in Table Topics Speech Contest and Evaluations Speech Contests in 2019 held in Chennai, India previously and has always been passionate in developing his communication & leadership skills.
Additionally, to his Toastmasters achievements Shamen Sameera holds an MBA from University of Wales Trinity Saint David where he received a Gold Medal for the best performance with a Distinction, & also achieved the BBA (1st Class) from the University of Colombo specialising in Marketing and he was also able to achieve 1st place in Sri Lanka and the 6th in the world for CIMA TOP-CIMA final case study examination in May 2013 and has been achieving accolades in every phase of his life in his journey to excellence.
