‘Cinnamon Bentota Beach’ or popularly known as Bentota Beach Hotel for over four decades is one of the pioneering resorts in Bentota, masterpiece by the legendary architect Geoffrey Bawa. This five-star resort has been constructed across 11 acres of land and has the most unique location boasting vistas of the Indian Ocean and the Bentara Ganga. Started as a 66 room hotel in 1970, ‘Cinnamon Bentota Beach’ boasts of having 159 luxury rooms, two classic Restaurants, three swimming pools, a modern gym, in-house artisan village (museum), Kids Club, International standard Water sports Centre, modern Banquet facilities and a Spa Centre by Spa Ceylon.

After a comprehensive refurbishment, Cinnamon Bentota Beach (CBB) has reopened to discerning travellers in November 2021 in the midst of the Covid pandemic. After a very slow recovery during the pandemic period, CBB has now regained its usual vibrant rhythm with Sri Lankan and overseas travellers. Acknowledged as one of the most iconic properties in Sri Lanka, CBB has reached the perfect getaway status for a divine tropical holiday.

The most outstanding feature of CBB is senses ‘the artistic’ angle in every corner. The property is truly a feast for the senses, starting from the stunning expanse of the aesthetically designed structure, tastefully created rooms to the striking rich batik ceiling envisioned at the entrance by Ena de Silva.

The Resort’s 159 guestrooms comprise of sixteen Suites, 84 Premium Terrace rooms and 59 Beach view rooms with unique sets of artworks that were commissioned from Sri Lankan artists as part of Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts’ pledge to support the local arts and crafts.

‘While all units are well equipped with modern conveniences, our rooms are warm, spacious and complete with its own private space overlooking the natural beach scenery, a modern en-suite bathroom with separate shower’ said Kasun Hennayaka, the Front Office Manager of the CBB.

The room facilities include tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, flat-screen cable TV, IDD telephone, safety lockers and free Wi-Fi service.

Guests are spoiled for choice with six specialised restaurants, the highlight being, ‘Nossa’, an all-day dining restaurant which depicts a hawker street, with different types of cuisine. Additionally, the seafood restaurant, ‘Sea-Meats-Spice’ and ‘Zest’, the Asian theme restaurant, specialising in Sri Lankan, Indian and Chinese cuisines.

Meanwhile, ‘Ottimo’ serves a variety of pizzas and pasta together with juicy premium cuts of steak and also features a choice of Italian wines among many other unique culinary offerings. ‘Fuse’ Lounge Bar and ‘Drench’- Pool Bar too are popular with guests, who like to enjoy and relax in the evening with sunset atmosphere.
