SLIIT Postgraduate Open Day 2023; Paving the Way for Exceptional Educational Opportunities
View(s):SLIIT is set to host the Postgraduate Open Day for the July 2023 intake, providing students with the ideal opportunity to discover multiple pathways for academic development. Scheduled for the 17th of June from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m at SLIIT Malabe Campus, students will receive an in-depth overview and insight of the diverse range of postgraduate and PhD course options.
Prospective students can meet one-on-one with SLIIT expert teaching staff from the Faculty of Graduate Studies, programme coordinators, and the student enrolment team to learn more about the industry oriented degree programmes available at SLIIT for students. SLIIT will provide detailed information on its research areas, facilities & guidance, career opportunities, scholarships, and special discounts. The Open Day will include a Campus tour to learn about the services and the environment.
As the leading non-state higher education institute in Sri Lanka, all postgraduate degrees at SLIIT are approved by the University Grants Commission under the Universities Act. SLIIT is a member of the Commonwealth Universities Association (ACU) and the International Association of Universities (IAU). It is also the only non-state higher education institute in SL to be ranked by the esteemed QS Asia University ranking as, within top 750 in Asia, top 200 in South Asia and among the top 7 in SL.
The postgraduate programmes at SLIIT are notable for their excellent faculty, industry-focused curricula, robust research support, and commitment to meeting all deadlines and conducting all programmes in a timely manner. Further, it’s well-known for producing high-quality research and providing excellent research guidance and support. As evidence, SLIIT produces over 100 Postgraduate theses annually and has the highest number of research publications among non-state higher educational institutes.
SLIIT is offering special discounts for MSc and MBA students in order to encourage quality and affordable education opportunities in Sri Lanka. Open Day participants will receive a 15% discount, corporate registrations with a minimum of four per group will receive a 20% discount, and SLIIT Alumni will receive a 10% discount.
The Postgraduate study programmes currently available includes, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, the MSc in Information Technology, the MSc in Information Management, the MSc in Information Systems, the MSc in Information Technology with a focus on Cyber Security, and the MSc in Information Technology with a focus on Enterprise Applications Development. SLIIT has introduced a new programme, the Master of Science in Network Engineering which is a comprehensive degree designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in the field of network engineering. This SLQF level 10 degree covers a wide range of topics, including network architecture, security, routing protocols, wireless networking, and network management.
SLIIT will also offer Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Business Administration beginning this year, in addition to other research-based degrees in computing and engineering that are being offered on a full-time or part-time basis. Students can apply for MPhil and PhD programmes throughout the year. Furthermore, there are number of scholarships offered to students with excellent undergraduate performance who intend to pursue MPhil and PhD programmes at SLIIT.
