Gateway wins three Age Group Squash titles

Gateway College won the Under-19, Under-13 and Under-11 titles at the recently concluded Yeti Open Squash Tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Squash at the Air Force Squash Court. The 10-member Gateway squad performed exceptionally well, grabbing the highest number of championship awards.

During the keenly contested competition, Ranuk Mendis won the Under-9 category, Manuth Dassanayake excelled by securing the Under-13 category and Shenaya Siriwardena excelled as the Under-19 champion. Shenaya also secured the third place in the Women’s Open category, demonstrating great talent and potential for the future. Manuth was placed fifth in the Under-15 category.

Amongst the other team members Taveesha Goonesekara was placed fifth in the Under-11 category, while Dillon Perukanda and Ravith Mendis were placed fourth and sixth in the Under-13 category. Vishan Ranatunga secured the third place in the Under-17 category. Omalya Kumaradasa, Dulein Balasooriya and Yolen Withanage too contributed as team players.
