Professor Luxman Wijeyaweera was conferred the title of Professor Emeritus by the University of Peradeniya Council.
Professor Wijeyaweera is the founder director of the Centre for Distance and Continuing Education.
He was the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University in 2015.
