‘Diasge Nangida’ hit the sky

The latest song to hit the Lankan music scene ‘Diasge Nangida’ (vhia f. kx.so) is the newest creation of the band Freeze, led by Migantha Wijedasa, popularly known as Miggie.
‘Freeze’, a popular outfit in the music scene, hit the top with their second original ‘Diasge Nangida’ (vhia f. kx.so) which reached one million hits on YouTube just five days after releasing the song. Apart from that, the song is going viral on web and hundreds of TikTok users used the song ‘Diasge Nangida’ to create their own visual for the platform.
Working for almost f
our years in the dance and wedding circuit, the band Freeze released their very first original ‘Bosa’ featuring Falan Andrea in March this year.
‘We mostly perform at weddings, dances, other corporate functions and concerts. So we were looking for a real life story to create our next song. The incidents happening at wedding are funny and we told Sankha B. to write on those lines. That’s how ‘Diasge Nangida’ was born’ said Senal Kapugeekiyana, the lead vocal of the song.
Freeze comprises of Senal Kapugeekiyana on Vocals, Miggie Wijedasa on Percussion and Vocals Sanka J Kodikara (who plays the role Dias) on Guitar and Vocals, Chivantha Samarajiwa on Keyboards and Vocals, Dileepa Deshan on Bass and Vocals and Rukshan Pradeep on Drums and Vocals.
‘Sankha B’ was responsible for lyrics and melody, while the music arrangements for ‘Diasge Nangida’ (vhia f. kx.so) was done by Ken Lappen. Sajith Akmeemana documented the script and directed the visual for PAPA Films.
Shanudri Priyasad played the main role ‘Diasge Nangida’, while popular film and teledrama characters Shiromika Fernando, D. B. Gangodathenna and Padma K. Mendis added the life to the realistic video. Leading model and designer Fareeda Yusuf played Dias’s bride.
‘We have to thank our fans and all Sri Lankan music lovers for the success of ‘Diasge Nangida’. I hope we have managed to stir the happiness of all music fans during this difficult period. We will be performing ‘Diasge Nangida’ in all our concerts and hope to create the visual impact on stage for our outdoor concerts in future’ said Senal.
