AIS athletes Shaylon and Rovinya felicitated by NSC
View(s):The National Sports Council (NSC) held a felicitation ceremony to applaud the achievements of the gold medal and bronze medals won by Shaylon Gunaratna and Rovinya Wijesekera at the recently held Beach Sprint Asian Rowing Championship in Thailand. Certificates were presented by the Chairman of the National Sports Council Arjuna Ranatunga. Shaylon won gold medal in the Men’s Individual Scull event while Rovinya and Shaylon combined in the Mixed Double Sculls event to win the bronze medal. This was the first occasion Sri Lanka won medals of any sort in rowing at an Asian Championship.
