Dons edge out Antonians

D.S. Senanayake College edged out St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota by 23-19 in their Dialog Schools Rugby League match played at Pallekelle yesterday. The winners led 8-5 at halftime and scored from three tries, a conversion and two penalties. The Antonians scored from three tries and two conversions.
The Dons scored their tries in the 18th, 52nd and 65th minutes as Janidu Wijeratne braced all three tries. Shehanda Umagiliyage put over a conversion and two penalties in the 31st and 58th minute.
Meanwhile the Antonians scored their tries through Roshen Kumara in the 25th and 55th minutes while skipper, Sahan Keerthisiri scored a try in the 66th minute. Keerthisiru converted two of the tries.
