Ritzbury empowers School’s Hockey 7s

Ritzbury, Sri Lanka’s favourite chocolate brand of Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL) announced its sponsorship towards the ‘Ritzbury -Thomians’ Schools Hockey 7s, organised by the Matale Old Thomian Hockey Association (MOTHA).
The ‘Ritzbury -Thomians’ Schools Hockey 7s was held in a grand manner recently at the Peradeniya University ground with over 220 players representing 22 of the best performing schools at district level competing in the tournament for much the sought-after A.J. Wijesinghe Memorial Challenge Trophy.
Eventually Kingswood College, Kandy won the coveted title after beating St. Aloysius’ College, Galle 1-0 in the final. Out of the total 22 teams, the schools were divided into five groups. Kingswood was placed in Group ‘B’ alongside Christ Church, Matale, Ananda College and Richmond, Galle.
Given the fact that hockey is one of the popular sports in Sri Lanka, Ritzbury stated it ensured a successful and exciting event this year as well. In addition to Hockey, Ritzbury is known as an active supporter of a wide range of sporting events in Sri Lanka including the Sir John Tarbat Athletics Championship, Vidudaya Swimming Championship, Junior National Squash Championship, Junior National Rugby Championship and the SLTA Tennis 10s All-Island School Kids Tennis Play Day.
