Royal thrash Science
View(s):After their battered season opener campaign against St. Peter’s College last week, Royal College made amends to score a thumping 45-10 win against Science College in their Dialog Schools Rugby League 2023 match played at Mt. Lavinia yesterday.
Royal scored freely from the word go and took a strong start to lead the halftime by 19-0. They scored from a tally of seven tries and five conversions, while humbling Science comprehensively in the first half. Science, however, regained the momentum to score 10 points after the turnaround, scoring from a converted try and a penalty to respectfully finish the game.
For Royal hooker Akram Faruk, flanker Ayyash Shiyam, flyhalf Thivain Perera, winger Disas Pathirana, centre Duljaya Gamanayake, winger Charuka Seneviratne and fullback Philio Calyanaratne. Scrumhalf Simak Shafeek converted four of the tries while forward Naqeeb Mohamed put over one for the winners.Winger Isuru Withanage scored the solitary try for Science.
