Foreign Minister Ali Sabry Visits Tianjin Medical University in China, Encourages Sri Lankan Students

Foreign Minister Ali Sabry, leading a delegation, embarked on a productive visit to Tianjin, China, to participate in the prestigious World Economic Forum. As part of the visit, the delegation, including Dr. Palitha Kohana, Ambassador-Designate for People’s Republic of China, seized the opportunity to engage with Tianjin Medical University (TMU) on the evening of June 27th.
At TMU, the delegation was warmly welcomed by TMU President Dr. Prof. Yan Hua, Vice President Ms. Shu Jun, Dean of the International Medical School Professor Fei Han, faculty members, and a vibrant group of Sri Lankan students pursuing their medical education at the university. The Sri Lankan students, exuding national pride, embraced their cultural heritage by performing a traditional Sri Lankan dance, symbolizing the warm ties between the two nations.
During the visit, Foreign Minister Ali Sabry emphasised the exceptional reputation of Tianjin Medical University, regarding it as the pinnacle of academic excellence and safety for Sri Lankan students pursuing medical education abroad. In his speech, he expressed confidence that Sri Lankan students studying at TMU would act like ambassadors for their nation, representing Sri Lanka with distinction.
As the visit concluded, Foreign Minister Ali Sabry expressed his appreciation to TMU and its leadership for their warm reception and commended the efforts of the Sri Lankan students in pursuing their medical education in Tianjin.
