First International Research Conference on Gender Studies to be held
View(s):The first International Research Conference on Gender Studies organised by the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura is due to be held on October 12 and 13.
The conference aims to provide a platform for academics, undergraduates, organisations, and communities to come together to discuss, share knowledge, and promote awareness of issues related to gender to promote greater understanding, dialogue, and action around issues related to gender, and to work towards creating a more equitable and inclusive world for all individuals, regardless of their gender identity, the University said.
The conference theme is ‘Towards a Society of Equal Opportunity’ and will cover topics of Gender and Crime, Gender and Society, Gender, Culture and Religion, Gender and Politics, Gender-Based Violence, Gender Equity and Equality, Gender and Education, Gender and Health and LGBTIQ.
The closing date for registration is September 20.
