St Peter’s record fourth win
St. Peter’s maintained their unbeaten run in the ongoing Dialog Schools Rugby League with a massive 56-7 win over Zahira at Maradana yesterday.
The win also saw them chalking up the highest score of the tournament. The Peterites led 15-0 at the breather and then opened up in the second half adding further 41 points. They accumulated their points through nine tries, four conversions and a penalty to the solitary converted try scored by Zahira.
Winger Pasindu Bandara, centre Praneeth Silva were in top form as the duo went over for three tries each with flanker Aiden Fernando, centre Sudesh Jayawickrama and second row Sadev Gamage scored a try each. Fullback Kushan Tharindu (2) and flanker Rahul de Peter (2) made the conversions. Fullback Althaaf Saad scored the try for Zahira and Mohamed Saajid made the conversion.
