Prof Nilanthi De Silva appointed VC of Kelaniya Uni

Prof Nilanthi De Silva was appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya this week.
Cadre Chair and Senior Professor De Silva was appointed VC on Thursday (27) under the directive of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
She will assume duties with effect from August 24 for a period of three years.
Professor De Silva specialised in Medical Parasitology, with an MBBS (Colombo), MSc (London), MD (Colombo). She has special research interests in soil-transmitted helminth infections and medical education.
She has received academic awards, Presidential awards, has publications in international scientific journals, and a notable number of awards from foreign universities for her performances. She has contributed vastly in hundreds of publications of books and various chapters in her area of expertise.
