Big win in Bali
Four golds!!
That was the proud achievement of the Soul Sounds Academy Choir including soloists Shenuk Wijesinghe and Rakitha Widyapathige at the 12th Bali International Choir Festival.
The Bali International Choir Festival 2023 was held from July 25-29, and the Soul Sounds Academy Choir conducted by Shivanthi Subramaniam and directed by Soundarie David Rodrigo won Gold for the Mixed Choir and Pop and Jazz categories. Young soloists Shenuk Wijesinghe and 11-year-old Rakhitha Widyapathige also won golds for the Classical Music Solo categories and Children’s Solo categories with Shenuk Wijesinghe emerging Category winner at the competition. Both are students of Soul Sounds Academy.
One of the fast growing and reputed choral festivals, the Bali International Choir Festival this year had over 92 choirs and well over 4,000 taking part.
