Colombo overcome Kandy in APIIT cager battle

Members of APIIT Kandy and Colombo teams

For the first time in history of APIIT Campus, its branches in Kandy and Colombo met in a basketball duel, which would potentially held on an annual basis going forward. Organised by the APIIT Kandy Campus, their counterparts from the Colombo Campus emerged victorious in the inaugural battle held at the University of Peradeniya Gymnasium last weekend.

Both teams displayed immense skills as the game took a thrilling affair before APIIT Colombo Campus snatched a memorable victory by a staggering margin of 56-28.

The victorious APIIT Colombo Campus team was led by Panchala, who had the backing of his team mates Inshaf, Mayantha, Kashmin, Randil, Ahad, Akitha, Nilaksha, Kaji, Shehan, Oshan, Rifhkan and Rumindu. The APIIT Kandy Campus team was led by Shakya Senanayaka, who is also the Vice President Sports of Students Activity Club of the campus. Others who represented APIIT Kandy were Lokitha Yapa, Shane Rajayogeshwaran, Mohamed Shakeel, Mishal Wickramasinghe, Omindu Gangodawatta, Joshua Richardson, Omal Kodithuwakku, Mahen Liyanage, Aakif Ajmal, Vidura Walisundara and Yoonus Ajward.
