AI and ML to be introduced as school subject
View(s):Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) will be introduced as a pilot project in 20 national schools in the country, a senior Education Ministry official said.
The programme will be introduced with the support of Microsoft Word as a pilot project free of charge.
The subject will be introduced to classes above Grade 8.
The facility will be made available to schools which have good internet facilities and the required technology.
An MoU will be signed with the Microsoft Company this month and a Cabinet paper will be submitted to include it as a subject in the curriculum.
The National Institute of Education is currently studying the possibility of introducing the subject to other schools.
