Cancer Society walk
View(s):In celebration of its 75th anniversary, the Sri Lanka Cancer Society held a Cancer Walk and fun fair on July 29. Over 1000 people joined the walk to support the Cancer Society making it a memorable and successful event raising much needed funds for the services it provides needy cancer patients and cancer survivors.
The Sri Lanka Cancer Society’s dedicated community service involves providing vital care and support to those affected by cancer. Its mission is guided by the principle that all cancer patients are entitled to the very best care, regardless of their social, cultural, or economic backgrounds.
The Society operates and maintains the Shantha Sevana Hospice for terminally ill patients and provides a residential care facility at the Bandaranaike Memorial Cancer Homes for patients seeking treatment from Apeksha Hospital while helping them live in comfort and dignity.
The Society also reaches out to needy cancer survivors by providing them with drugs and funds to resume their daily lives and activities.
