Christie’s supports auction to help Sunera Foundation

Paradise Road Galleries will present an auction of modern and contemporary Sri Lankan art in aid of the Sunera Foundation next month.
The auction will feature works from Justin Pieris Deraniyagala, Richard Gabriel, Manjusri, Ivan Peries, Ranil Deraniyagala, Jagath Weerasinghe and more. All proceeds from the auction will directly benefit Sunera Foundation’s initiatives.
This is the first-ever fundraiser auction supported by Christie’s to be held in Sri Lanka to support the Sunera Foundation which is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of differently abled individuals and facilitating their fullest integration into society using the performing arts.
“Sunera Foundation has for the last 23 years, been working with differently-abled young persons to enhance their lives. Our method is to enable self-expression and inspire creativity. It is through the collective efforts of endeavours such as this auction, that we are able to make a real difference and be a force for positive change,’ commented Sunethra Bandaranaike, Founder Sunera Foundation.

This exceptionally curated auction brings together a significant collection of modern and contemporary Sri Lankan art that would enhance the finest of collections,” she said.
The exhibition will be open to the public from August 31– September 14, at Paradise Road Galleries from 10 a.m. – midnight. The auction will be held on September 7 at Paradise Road, the Gallery Cafè.
