The Northern California based Hospital Services Support Foundation (HSSF), established in 2019 as a non-profit organisation, shipped its 12th container of medical equipment from various hospitals in the US to Sri Lanka last month.

Working in collaboration with the Hospital Services Council (HSC), the equipment included ICU beds, stretchers, theatre tables and lights, IV stands, medicine cabinets, patient lifting devices, over-the-bed tables, and baby cots among other items.

The Colombo National Hospital, the Blood Bank, teaching Hospitals in Ratnapura, Anuradhapura and Jaffna, and hospitals in Kayts, Nainativu and Delft have been recipients of the medical equipment shipped since 2020 by this volunteer-driven operation.
