SLTC – A Globally Recognised Sri Lankan University
View(s):Founded in 2015 as the country’s first non-state institution of higher education dedicated to engineering and technology, today the SLTC Research University has grown to become Sri Lanka’s largest corporate-backed research university offering a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, ranging from engineering to music. SLTC was also ranked among the top 3 nonstate universities in the country by the Webometric Rankings of 2023.

A Diverse Portfolio of Programmes
SLTC offers nearly 50 undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes under 18 different study pathways. These include degrees in engineering, technology, science, humanities, business, performing arts and computing. SLTC is the first non-state university in the country to award a UGC-approved degree in Music as well as Honours degrees in BTech. SLTC also offers several postgraduate programmes in collaboration with international universities.
Global Partnerships
In addition to the locally awarded degrees, SLTC works with several international universities that have partnered to allow SLTC undergraduates to transfer to their respective universities in Australia, the UK, New Zealand, and Austria to complete their degrees. Accordingly, SLTC undergraduates who wish to complete their degrees at one of SLTC’s partner universities could do so in their second or third years.
ENTECH Merit-Based Youth Scholarship
Introduced for the first time in Sri Lanka the ENTECH Merit-based Youth Scholarship offers fee waivers to each eligible student, exclusively based on their advanced-level examination results. This scholarship is open for all study pathways and has benefitted a large number of students since being introduced.
Academic Excellence
Since its inception, SLTC has been known for their academic excellence in all programmes that the university awards. Accredited by several local and global authorities, SLTC ensures that their qualifications are globally recognised. The Engineering and Technology programmes awarded by the university are offered in line with the Washington Accord and the Sydney Accord respectively. SLTC is also a member of the AACSB.
