Presidential Climate Change advisor holds talks with world leaders during Africa Climate summit
View(s):Ruwan Wijewardene, Senior Advisor to President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Climate Change, represented the Sri Lankan President at the recent Africa Climate Summit and concluded a highly successful visit to Kenya.
Accompanied by Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner, Kana Kananathan, Mr. Wijewardene had meetings with world leaders, fostering diplomatic relations and advancing climate-related discussions. They included Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland, Kenya’s Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi, and the United Nation’s former Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, a media release said.
Mr. Wijewardene and the High Commissioner also hosted a delegation from India attending the Climate Africa Summit.
The media release said the successful visit of the Special Presidential Adviser highlights Sri Lanka’s commitment to addressing climate challenges and strengthening its ties with African nations.
