Sri Lanka’s Yuhansa, Ajhesh emerge champions

Local stars Yuhansa Peiris and Ajhesh Kajan emerged champions of the Girls and Boys ATF Under-14 Week 2 Tennis Tournament, coming out victorious in the two finals played in the afternoon session at the SLTA courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday.
The pair won their matches with ease which in fact battles were between four players of host country Sri Lanka. Yuhansa overcame Eliza Kahagalla while Ajhesh got the better of Mayonan Kubherra by identical winning margins of two sets to nil.
Earlier in the semi-finals played in the morning session, Yuhansa recorded a win against Diyana Faith and Eliza Kahagalla received a walkover in the girls’ category. In the boys category Ajhesh defeated Ashain Silva while Mayonan overcame David Ava of Canada, who retired midway.
