The 1999-year batch of former students of St. Joseph’s College recently conducted a career guidance seminar for AL students of the college. It was an awareness programme to cover opportunities in areas such as entrepreneurship, banking and finance, vocational training, ICT, tourism, digital media marketing and logistics. More than 350 students took part in the event.

Shenal Kolonne, Vice President of Virtusa and chairman of the event organising committee, said the programme was designed to provide guidance to AL students to select a suitable profession or higher education path while still in school.

He emphasised the importance of empowering students to make independent decisions about their future careers, free from pressure from parents or others.

“Sri Lanka offers a wide array of professions many of which can be lucrative but due to a lack of awareness, many education young individuals miss out on these opportunities,” he said.
