APIIT Law School Gears Up to Host Teams Worldwide at ALSINC 2023!
View(s):With anticipation in the air and an undercurrent of excitement, APIIT Law School welcomed over 20 teams from around the world for the third edition of the APIIT Law School International Negotiation Competition (ALSINC) – a signature project that provided an opportunity for university students to build their knowledge and skills in different forms of negotiation.
Representing various corners of the world, including the UK, Singapore, Nigeria, Kenya, India, and Sri Lanka, the teams engaged in a series of negotiation rounds to clinch the Winning Negotiator Team Title at ALSINC 2023. This year’s edition, which took place from the 30th of August 2023 to the 3rd of September 2023 at a location adjacent to the picturesque Bolgoda lake, Sri Lanka, marked a turning point in the competition’s history, by transitioning from its exclusively online format in past editions to a hybrid model.
The ALSINC journey was not confined solely to a competition; it was an enriching experience that promised to bring like-minded individuals together and stimulate creative thinking. ALSINC 2023 served as a platform where university students and international assessors engaged in cultural exchange and participated in various student-driven initiatives, further enhancing the experience.
At the conclusion of the competition, The Royal Institute of Sri Lanka emerged as the Champion, securing the top position. O P Jindal Global University of India earned the title of 1st runner-up, signifying their second-place finish. The Hilary Clinton Swansea University attained the position of 2nd runner-up, marking their achievement as the third-placed finalist.
A brainchild of APIIT Law School’s Moot, Debate, and Mock Mediation Society (MDMMS), ALSINC is a symbol of the power of student-driven initiatives. Organised entirely by students, for students, this competition serves as a testament to APIIT’s commitment to nurture holistic legal education. The event not only provides a platform for young legal minds to showcase their negotiation skills but also underscores APIIT’s role in developing meaningful academic pursuits beyond the classroom.
ALSINC stands as a testament to APIIT’s commitment to giving its students great opportunities to hone their existing skills as well as develop new skills and be a part of activities that provide them with invaluable experiences; experiences that prepare them for rapid career advancement even as they study for their degrees.
