President to visit Germany for Berlin Global Dialogue
View(s):President Ranil Wickremesinghe who returns to Sri Lanka over the weekend after attending the G77 summit in Cuba and the UN General Assembly sessions, will leave for Germany next week to give the opening remarks at the Leaders Dialogue session on the first day of the ‘Berlin Global Dialogue’. He will have a working visit thereafter which will include meetings with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and other political and business leaders.
The inaugural Berlin Global Dialogue is a German high-level global initiative to address current geopolitical and economic challenges.
Apart from Chancellor Scholz, European Council President Charles Michel and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo are to attend the meeting.
President’s Chief of Staff Sagala Ratnayake, Foreign Secretary Arunii Wijewardene, President’s Senior Advisor Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga and Advisor to the Finance Minister Deshal de Mel are scheduled to hold talks with their German counterparts during their two day stay in Berlin.
President Wickremesinghe is due to preside over tomorrow’s Cabinet meeting while in Colombo and meet the visiting IMF delegation discussing the second tranche for Sri Lanka from the IMF’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF).
