President Ranil Wickremesinghe conveyed these remarks on Friday during a meeting with key stakeholders in the tourism industry in the Ampara district. The gathering brought together government officials and industry professionals with the aim of addressing pertinent challenges in the tourism sector.

The President pointed out that global reports predicted that tourism would contribute 10% of the global gross domestic product by 2035. The President personally assessed the areas’ shortcomings and engaged in cordial conversations with the tourists present there, the President’s Media Division said.
