Sri Lanka’s Saajida enters ITF quarterfinals
Sri Lanka’s Saajida Razick recorded a comfortable win over Kashvi Sunil of India in the second round match of the ITF Junior Circuit Week 1 Tennis Tournament played at the SLTA courts in Greenpath, Colombo, ensuring her berth in the quarterfinal.
Saajida had little difficulty in overcoming her opponent as she came out victorious by two sets to nil. In other second round matches played South Koreans Hyewon Kim and Eunsoo Lee, and Indians Anvi Punaganto and Kashvi Sunil won their matches to qualify to the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile in the boy’s category Amirali Ghavam, Sriniketh Kannan, Samprit Sharma, all of India, along with Jintao Lan and Xianfeng Chen, both of China, Danish Alexander Nordal Clausen, Romanian Dev Kanbargimath and Daniel Bien of Chechnya qualified for the quarterfinals.
However due to inclement weather, most matches scheduled were called off and weather permitting, the games will be played from today morning.
